Reliable cake mixes are one of the items a professional cake maker and decorator simply can't trade without.

Culpitt Select Rich Fruit Cake Mix is made in the UK from high quality ingredients and delicious fruit pieces, including sultanas, currents and cherries. This mix is the perfect blend of ingredients to help save time spent on baking. Simply add water to create excellent results every time. As a guide, 1kg of cake mix will make 2 x 8" cakes, approx 3" depth.

Instructions for use:

  • For a 6" round cake use 350g of cake batter
  • For an 8" round cake use 500g of cake batter
  • For a 10" round cake use 770g of cake batter
  • For a 12" round cake use 1300g of cake batter

For best results place dry mix into a machine bowl fitted with a beater. Add 250ml of water per 1kg of cake mix. Beat on slow speed for approximately 2 minutes. Scrape down bowl and mix for a further 2/3 minutes on a slow/medium speed being careful not to tear the fruit. Divide into chosen tins and bake at 140°C.

As a general baking time guide, units from 450g - 1.36kg in weight will take approximately 1 hour per 450g to bake. Slab cake will take approximately 2 ½ hours total baking time.
